Bonnie Robertson Richardson, age 76, of Russell Springs, passed away Friday, January 19, 2024, at Russell County Hospital
Born December 31, 1947, in Russell Springs, she was the daughter of the late Willis Oliver and Lois Marie Luttrell Robertson. She was a loving wife, mother, and nana, and she enjoyed tending to her flower gardens, vegetable garden, reading, and spending time with her family. She had a heart of gold and always put others before herself. Bonnie was a long-time member of New Friendship United Baptist Church.
Bonnie is survived by her loving husband of fifty-eight years, Marion Richardson; two daughters, Sherry (Bobby) Oakes and Kim Clark (Troy Dykes), all of Russell Springs; two brothers, Billy (Becky) Robertson and Stevie (Sheila) Robertson, of Russell Springs; one sister-in-law, Lynna Robertson, of Russell Springs; five grandchildren, Zac Oakes (Brenna Posey), Spencer (Cory) Roy, Mackenzie Gosser (Cody Wilson), and Christian Helm, all of Russell Springs, and Cassidy Brooke (Kyle) Kerney of Byrdstown, Tennessee; and six great-grandchildren, Alex and Archer Oakes, Saylor Kerney, Evelyn Gosser, and Cambrie and Sabin Roy. Bonnie was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Robertson Thorsen; a brother, Bobby Robertson; and a grandson, Dustin Oakes.
Funeral services are 10:00 AM Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at Bernard Funeral Home, with Brother Andy Robertson and Brother Glen Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in New Friendship Cemetery.
Visitation for the public will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, January 23, and will continue Wednesday morning from 8:00 AM until time of services at Bernard Funeral Home.
Zac Oakes, Christian Helm, Kyle Kerney, Cody Wilson, Preston Richardson, and Mark Robertson will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers or funeral gifts, the family suggests donations to Hope Lodge, in memory of Bonnie’s grandson, Dustin Oakes. These can be mailed to American Cancer Society-Hope Lodge-Lexington, 1500 College Way, Lexington, KY 40502 or left at the funeral home.
